May 8 Public Meeting!

Hear ye, hear ye!  Another in a series of wonderful Saturday morning get togethers, Saturday Morning, May 8, from 10:30 to noon, at the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust building!  Directions are here:  http://kporttrust.org/directions

Bring questions, bring comments, and we’ll provide coffee and the best information we can offer about the latest in the fight against privatization of Goose Rocks Beach.  More importantly, bring us voters for the Town of Kennebunkport!   We will share our support system to help get Town Residents to the June 12 vote on the Town’s legal budget.  There will be stories on this soon here on this site, but for now, please bring names and contact info for anyone you know that is a voter and loves walking and recreating freely at Goose Rocks Beach!

Here are directions:  http://kporttrust.org/directions/.  Join the folks that support the last 100 plus years of community and fellowship around this beach, and if you feel that the folks that are suing Kennebunkport for the right to treat the beach, all the way to the water, like their yard are in the right, come speak up and tell us why.  We try and be fair, with guests from a variety of positions involved in the suit in one fashion or another, and promise to be civil.

We won’t argue the case here, but it’s hard to suddenly equate a beach that has been freely used for wonderful vacations by generations to someone’s private yard, subject to owner’s whims for who can stay and who gets booted, but maybe someone can make that case.  It is a beach!

At any rate, we thank all the previous standing room crowds at our monthly meetings since our first one in December when we stepped up the awareness of the issues.  We are over 2300 strong on the two Facebook sites, save-our-beaches.org and preservegooserocksbeach, and gaining every day.

Come learn about getting your yard signs, and see what we’ll offer for Save-our-beaches support items, and thank you all for your wonderful support and continuing suggestions!
