Next Event May 26!

Happy Spring, everyone, and hope you are enjoying the beach!  We look forward to seeing you all this spring and summer, and the Save-Our-Beaches team thanks you all for your continued support and help in fighting to keep our great beach open for the public’s recreational use the way we’ve always enjoyed it!
We will NOT have a public meeting next week, and instead we will see you all at the Thursday evening 5 PM to 7:30, May 26 rally at the Goose Rocks Beach Dairy/Brandy’s location.  We will have our second annual SignStock, or Signfest, or whatever catchy name we can invent between now and then.
Bring your family and your appetitite, and leave room in the car for a Vote Yes sign or two, and we’ll have a blast with music and conversation as we support the Town’s battle on our behalf with those that would enable privitization of Goose Rocks Beach!
We will have 250 Vote Yes yard signs to help the Town pass their legal budget article, that will empower them to fight on our behalf another year to keep the beaches free to all for recreation.  This vote for $250,000 is critical, and our individual cost is really very low for such an critical need.  The average taxpayer will see a one time hit of $17 per $100,000 of assessed value, and that money will help the Town continue to file and defend a few special interest homeowners that want to be able to kick any of us off the beach any time, for any reason.
For those of you wanting to follow the legal battle, the best site is the Town’s www.preservegooserocksbeach.org and while I haven’t heard any updates, the Town’s assertion that all deeds followed the Mother of all Deeds’ language appointing the Town as caretaker of the beaches for all citizens way back in the beginning is still a powerful filing.
So please join us for music, food and drinks, ice cream and friendship, and signs for your yard that will show your support.  Help the community see how many of us support continued enjoyment of Goose Rocks Beach, the way our forefathers intended, smart folks that they were!  Thanks to Brandy’s on the Rocks, and Nick, Mary and Charlie at the Goose Rocks Dairy for their support, and particularly for providing me a chance to buy the best hot fudge sundae in the country at night after work!
And sincere thanks to all of you that last year had signs out, and for everything you all did leading up the last year’s vote.  We’ll win that vote again, and your fighting for something you love is appreciated and very, very important.
